Management Features of Sales Force Automation

Sales force automation, or SFA, is a term that refers at its most basic to automating critical sales functions like lead and account management. Sales force automation uses software to automate sales tasks like order processing, lead generation, information sharing, contact management, customer management, and employee evaluation.

It also keeps track of customer preferences, buying habits, demographics, and performance management. Sales force automation tools improve field sales productivity and open whole new realms of possibility for companies. With an on-demand architecture that allows effective sales force management and CRM, managing sales information is easy on even the largest scales. Essentially, customers and sales employees can manage and share any type of information.

There are a number of benefits and features that come with sales force automation technology, and these features comprise the backbone of the SFA system. They include:

Lead management

Lead management allows companies to keep better track of leads by ensuring they don't get cold. This can reduce or eliminate the need for manual routing and lead assignment duplication, clearly defines opportunity assignments, and is able to automatically assign leads to the correct individual based on territory, product expertise or user-defined rules. Thus SFA allows for automatic load leveling across sales territories, and better relationships between team members.

For example, with automatic lead management, you can set security controls that ensure teams or partners can access only their own leads, increase lead conversion rates and improve sales response times.

Opportunity management

Opportunity management allows sales teams to work better as units by standardizing sales methods and systems, identifying bottlenecks, and tracking deal closures. It also allows employees to focus their resources on strengthening key partnerships and dominating key competitors instead of competing with each other. More organized sales teams allow managers to delegate tasks and set up automatic reminder emails for themselves and their team.

Most importantly, the opportunity management feature allows companies to centrally track custom information like partner and customer communications and milestones while simultaneously monitoring myriad sales processes like sales channels, service effectiveness or product lines.

Account management

An account management system ensures that your company is able to attain full knowledge of your customer accounts. Accurate knowledge of customer account equals better collaboration amongst your sales teams and retains lasting customer relationships. Additionally, account management allows a company to defines and evaluate all those involved with the account, from the project manager to the executive sponsor.

With account management, you can set up online access to all customer account information, like organization charts and current partners-across the entire company. No one is left in the dark and everyone knows the account status and history.

Territory Management

On-demand, advanced territory management capabilities allow you to adjust to rapid changes within your company. An easy point-and-click interface ensures your company can automatically route accounts and opportunities to the correct territories.

A solid territory management system also decreases lag time in lead assignments by ensuring a lead never gets cold; lead assignments are easily queued and automatically sent to the correct territory. In essence, territory management allows companies to easily monitor, set up, gather, transfer, assign, re-assign, and change accounts across territories.

Contract Management

Contract management is another integral feature in sales force automation. Essentially, it allows companies to manage a contract's lifespan by shortening approval cycles for contracts, renewing contracts sooner, and reducing administrative costs.

This SFA feature improves tracking and management of contract information, such as value, conditions, terms, evaluations, and more.

Traditionally, most companies have had to build, buy and sustain an IT software system all on their own; however, this leads to extremely high maintenance fees and myriad other costs. Today, the advent of automated sales force technology allows businesses to subscribe to already built, on-demand, customizable services that provide everything a traditional IT software does and more.

The architecture of sales force automation allows for a decrease in the total cost of ownership, reduction of risk factors, a decrease in wasted time, and a new focus on business and management rather than technology.

What's Your Money Style?

We all have a different style when it comes to our relationship with money. I'm not talking about your fears or stories about money. Your fears are a whole other box of worms. When I refer to style, I mean how you would relate to money if you had never been influenced by another persons style or fears.

Dominant type of people are really driven to make money and use it to please themselves. They like to buy nice cars. They go after money and success with intense passion. When they set a money goal they know they'll get it. Once they get that money, they are reaching for more. They are generous with money but do not like people to take advantage of them. Competition is fun to them. Dominant styles think it is easy to make money and can't understand why everyone else doesn't think this way, too. They are willing to take risks and do not hesitate very long when making decisions about investments. When they desire a certain price on something they will negotiate down. Watch out, they may not bend. Give them the bottom line price up front and you'll save a lot of time and frustration for them and yourself!

Influencing and promoter type of people are excited to make and spend money. If the path to the money is not fun, they will take a right hand turn. When they are in the zone, they will seem to magnetize money in very interesting waysways that other people would doubt. They don't think before they buy. They see something they want and they usually go for it, even it breaks the bank. They make a plan but many times they completely forget about when a bright shiny object in a store window catches their eye. Details, details, yuck! Have you ever heard of the terms "shop-o-holic and impulsive"?

Steady and supporter type people like to be slow to their decisions. They will usually let their mate make investment decisions if they are a different style. They are very consistent with their practices and are not thrilled with big risksthey'd rather be patient and watch their money grow over time. Their purchases are more on the practical side.

Analytical type people are very calculated about what happens with their money. By the time they choose to do something, whether it's a purchase, creating a business or an investment, they have created a very thought out a plan. If the choice seemed like a risk before they did their research, it is now a safe bet. They've checked out all the possible down falls of their choice and have a back up plan. Spontaneous with their money? Not! If they are making a purchase, it will last them a long time.

Which style are you? None of these styles is better than another. Each of them does, however, have a shadow side. For instance, an analytical style might get in so much fear about losing their money that they never make a move or go after a dream. A promoter style might spend every penny they have with no money in savings. A dominant style may use their money as manipulative tool. A steady person may get stuck in a rut and fear change that is to their benefit. It is important to know your natural style and work with it, not against it. It is good to implement some traits from other styles, when you see that yours is hindering you. But always stick to your values, no matter what advice you get or read. Remember that everyone has their own style and what works for you may not be tolerable for your mate or business partner. This is where blending styles becomes important. Stay compassionate to other's needs when communicating or taking action with money. If I Knew Being Brave Was So Scary I Never Would Have Tried It

Im feeling really scared right now, not because Im in a scary situation, but because I was brave and it was scary.

In reality it was a little incident that brought me to this scary place; I had to assert my rights in a business dispute and request that someone else fulfill their obligations. Sounds reasonable enough. Even sounds like a daily occurrence for some business people. Hmmmthen why is it that facing a reasonable, somewhat daily occurrence makes me so very scared? Im guessing that it has nothing to do with this specific incident, and everything to do with my amygdala. Yes, I said amygdala, not armadillo!! However, if I had an armadillo it would scare me too!

The amygdala is the part of our brain that holds emotional memories; those two words emotional memories are the key. Whenever we are faced with a stressful event or crisis, which awakens our emotional memories, our amygdala hijacks our working memory. We then experience the classic fight or flight reaction, along with a flood of adrenalin and cortisol. When cortisol levels are high, we make more mistakes, are more distracted, and cant remember as well; even if we are only trying to recall something we just read. In other words, when we are hijacked by our amygdala we all become very, very scared.

The trick to dealing with hijacks in the work place is to become more self-aware and make different choices. First recognize what you are feeling, second realize which one of your emotional memories caused the hijack and finally choose to respond in a new way. Of course all of this requires being brave, but you cant be brave until you have first been scared. Think of it this way, being scared is the first step in being brave.

In my case, my amygdala hijacked my emotions (meaning simply that I was really, really scared without a really, really good reason) when I had to assert my rights and request someone fulfill their obligation. Although this might cause some of us to be intimidated there is a smaller select group of us that would feel more scared than intimidated. I was not so much scared of requesting someone do their job, as I was scared that they would think I had no right to tell them what to do, even though they were working for me. My rights seem to always be trumped by someone elses right to act however they want, even if they are treating me unfairly. When my rights are involved I recognize that the first thing I feel is scared; a classic hijack!

Second, I had to realize the root cause of that feeling. Trust me on this one, once you know your root cause it is easier to see that all the emotion you are pouring into a hijacked situation is really coming from another place, a place in your emotional memory. This is a little like once you have been traumatized by a rabid, foaming at the mouth dog, in the future, the mere sight of any dog can cause you to run for the hills. A classic fight or flight amygdala hijack moment!

Finally, we can all choose to respond to hijack attempts in a new way. Just because you have tried to be brave in the past and ended up over-the-top scared in the process doesnt mean that is how you will always react. Once you have recognized you are in the midst of a hijack moment, and realized the root cause, then remind yourself that because you are now more self-aware, you have the power to choose a new, healthier response. Oh yeah, you will still be scared the first few times you try this, but each time you should be just a little less scared and a little more brave.

There you have it; why being brave is so scary. In reflection, if I had known becoming brave would have required so much of being scared first, I would have done it anyway. I prefer to be more self-aware by recognizing my feelings, realizing why I feel them, and responding to them in a healthier manner. Well, at least most of the time.

Affiliate Marketing Home-Based Business: What Is It And Why Does It Work?

We are living in an amazing time in history! Technology has given us the ability to communicate, be productive, and work wherever we have internet access. But how do you get an employer to agree to let you work from home? That is tricky. Most companies are still uncomfortable allowing employees to telecommute. One big reason is that businesses who allow employees to work offsite have to make investments and be vigilant about security breaches into the company intranet. Some companies now allow for an occasional telecommute, but that barely impacts the issues driving the desire to work from a home office, such as high fuel costs, long commutes, expensive child care costs, and global warming.

Another way to make money online is to set up your own virtual business. But trying to build your company from scratch is expensive and risky. A quick internet search will present a plethora of home-based business options. So, how do you know which ones are legitimate? The answer is to look at the business model. A solid opportunity provides benefits to all parties involved. Affiliate marketing programs have attracted a lot of attention lately. This type of program is successful because companies need help getting the attention of consumers who have may have an interest in buying from them.

Businesses have long known that referrals from a friend, or another influential authority, such as a trusted business or an association are much more likely to make a purchase than those who come in arbitrarily. This recommendation breaks the initial barrier of distrust between vendor and prospective customer. However, before the internet age, companies had a hard time obtaining enough referred business to sustain their profitability goals. So, they also used expensive media ads to bring in additional customers and build their brands. With the proliferation of internet usage, businesses began shifting some money away from traditional advertising venues to website development and internet advertising. This was a successful strategy when the internet was still small. Now-a-days, there is an overload on information and advertising on the web. So, how does a business stand out to customers who are interested in what they have to sell? They first start by improving their search ranking in an effort to land on the first page of results from searches on major engines like Google and Yahoo. They can do this by optimizing keywords and paying to be listed as a sponsor when people search with pre-specified keywords. This is a necessary tactic, but any good marketer knows that relying on only one stream of leads is short-sighted and risky.

A second tactic is to partner with other websites that provide content which interests their best prospects. This alliance is called an affiliate marketing program (or performance marketing in some circles). It is designed to create a network of targeted lead generators. The concept is simple: companies advertise related products and services to the targeted audience of a website. The owner of that site is rewarded for generating business for referring business to the company. Example: I am interested in cats and build a site with cat tales. Cat food manufacturers, veterinaries, and stores who sell pet food advertise on my site. When my readers click-through to the vendor's sites or make a purchase, I receive a commission. Although there are several affiliate program models the most popular by far is revenue sharing, also known as Cost-per-sale (CPS) or Pay-per-sale (PPS). First a customer must reach the merchant site by clicking on an ad from the publisher's website. When that customer makes a purchase, the publisher of the original site receives a percentage of the sale. Another commonly used affiliate marketing program pays a set dollar amount per referral who performs a given action, such as signing up to the merchant site, subscribing to a newsletter or filling out a form. This is called Pay-per-lead (PPL), Cost-per-lead (CPL), or Cost-per-action/Cost-per-acquisition (CPA).

According to Marketing Sherpa, in 2006, affiliate programs paid out approximately $6.5 billion US dollars in commissions. If there is so much money to be made, why can't you be a part of this growing industry? Perhaps you're thinking you need to be a web designer who is adept at internet marketing strategies. Once again, technology comes to the rescue! The internet allows you to be in business for your self without having to do it by yourself. But how does it work? Where can you go for good advice? Work at Home Enterprises can provide you with in-depth guidance on how to structure an affiliate home business and run it successfully.

Cruise Takes A Bruise

Viacom gave Tom Cruise the bruise of his career or, more exactly, its cantankerous chairman, Sumner Redstone, did, for behavior unbecoming an employee of the entertainment giant, saying Cruises shenanigans are not acceptable to Paramount.

Redstones punch to the career launched an entire boxing match of bruising comments.

Mr. Cruises attorney shot back in un-lawyerly fashion, calling his comments disgusting and saying hes lost it completely or hes been given breathtakingly bad advice.

And Creative Artists Agency, which reps Cruise, indicated it might not do more business with Paramount if Redstone was going to continue directing the show from his celestial perch. "Paramount has no credibility right now, the agencys president said, and, as any good politico would, immediately voiced an implied plea for Viacom to get its act together so the two megabuck makers could continue their prosperous co-adventure, saying, It is not clear who is running the studio and who is making the decisions.

Redstone, energized by the effect of his power punching, swung out with, It is about time that the industry started dealing with these stars in a different manner and let them know that they are not going to get big money and act in a way that is inappropriate and embarrasses the studios.

Then he even dared brag about a call complimenting his decisiveness, saying that he had behaved like Samuel Goldman, the famed bullying producer of yore.

While Cruise, the manic scientologist, is culpable for leading a life according to the usual sort of celebrity ignorance, Redstones self-flattering association with Goldwin reminds us a story about a duo of other famed producers gone by, Larry and Harry Warner, that might have some applicability.

The old saw goes, a person calls Warner Brothers and asks, Is Larry there?

The operator replies, No.

Is Harry there? the caller inquires.

No, the operator intones.

The person gives up and decides to call back the next day. Hes told the same thing.

Wait a minute, he says. Every time I call, you tell me Larry is out of town and Harry is tied up? Whats going on?

Oh, the operator replies, every time Larry goes out of town we tie Harry up.

A Word about "Word of Mouth"

A Word about "Word of Mouth"

Not long ago, marketing was considered taboo in medical circles, even unethical! My how times have changed! In todays world of declining reimbursements and fierce competition, many practices are seeking every competitive advantage possible, whether its a brand new facility with great access, friendly staff or waiting areas with internet access.

My definition of marketing is everything that shapes a consumer or patients perception. Your office environment, the personnel, the demeanor and ability of the physicians, the advertising and public relations effort, even the sign in front of the building, communicate something about your practice. Hopefully, something positive!

Frequently, I hear medical practices say they depend on "word of mouth" advertising, typically followed by a knowing, "Its the best kind of advertising!" To which I reply, "Yes it is!" But to be completely reliant on word of mouth is foolhardy.

You may have heard the tale of Henrys muffler. Henry wasnt a big believer in the power of marketing, allowing his work to speak for itself. He owned a muffler shop that did 99 successful installations in a row; everything was going swimmingly for the shop. But on that 100th installation, the customer exited the shop and the muffler gave way minutes later, clanking into the road. As you might imagine, this customer was quite perplexed at the shoddy workmanship provided by Henrys shop and proceeded to tell all his friends and family about this unnerving experience.

This illustrates the inherent problem with complete dependence on word of mouth, bad news travels like a wildfire out of control. There is a certain level of "expectation of experience" that each patient subconsciously visualizes prior to entering your practice and sometimes the mental bar is set pretty high. If that expectation is met or slightly exceeded the patient will most likely keep that good experience to themselves. Anything less than their expectation will ignite the word of mouth wildfire.

Physicians may ask patients to tell others, offer a unique service, add state of the art equipment or systems to improve the patient experience. These tactics will help garner positive word of mouth marketing. What really works is a consistent patient experience, from one visit to the next, encompassing the cleanliness of the facility to the friendliness of the staff, to the overall length of visit. If a patient returns, they have the first visit in their mental inventory to access as their subconscious expectation of the visit.

There is attrition however. People move, they become disenchanted and most importantly, they get well. With this expected turnover, word of mouth advertising also recedes. With todays busy lifestyles it is hard to imagine that even current patients are out championing your practice.

Marketing is critical in medical practices because it helps to communicate what is unique about a certain practice. In a patients view, a podiatrist is a podiatrist. One podiatrist may, however, more clearly communicate their services in newspaper advertising, editorial articles, websites and so forth. These tools reinforce the positive image that the podiatrists friendly staff, capable physicians and attractive building portrays.

In confectionery terms, positive word of mouth marketing should be viewed as the icing and the strategic marketing effort as the cake. With a shrinking market, its important to get your slice!

Creating Your Own Affiliate Business

An excellent and rather simple way to start a business or add income flow to your existing business is to start an affiliate business. An affiliate business offers an individual the opportunity to become an affiliate, or business sales partner. An affiliate is paid a certain amount of money for either a click through from the partnering web site; a fixed amount for a lead generated by an ad on the affiliate's web site; or a percentage of a purchase made by a visitor as a result of a click through created by the affiliate.

There are two ways to successfully create your own affiliate business.

1. Creating an Affiliate Business Promoting Other Businesses

If you have a web site with a decent amount of traffic, and you have time on your hands to search out some great affiliate programs and continue to increase your web site traffic, then you might consider starting an affiliate business promoting other merchants. While this is not a get-rich-quick scheme by any means, it can, over time, generate a fair amount of income.

Promoting your chosen affiliate business partners can be a tedious process, and can become a bit tricky at times. While banner ads are often the preferred method of promotion by an affiliate business, choose an affiliate business that also works with you to provide text links and other forms of communications, such as enewsletters and email, to promote click throughs. Other promotion options that have proven successful for many affiliates include pop ups, which can work well, but are often blocked or closed even before they've loaded, as well as pop unders, which tend to show more success simply because when an internet user discovers them, they've already loaded and can be seen in detail before they're closed. This allows the viewer a short amount of time to consider clicking on the link to get more information.

While it is certainly possible to search for each affiliate business individually, and sign up for each one individually, a streamlined way that can become very successful is to work with a company such as OffersQuest.com, an affiliate business that works with many different affiliate partners. Companies such as this offer dozens of programs covering everything from shoes to ecommerce solutions, and can offer a variety of affiliate business advertising options, including both banners and text links.

Before signing on as an affiliate business partner, however, be sure to only consider links for products and services that promote and complement your current business and web site. For example, a site dedicated to home schooling information will not do well as a casino affiliate. On the other hand, a site dedicated to marketing and advertising may actually see improved web traffic and visitor stats from an affiliate business link related to an ecommerce merchant.

Another thing to keep in mind is that many search engines, including Yahoo!, may not allow your site into their listings if your site consists mostly of affiliate links. Too many affiliate links will litter your site, making it difficult to focus on your site's content and the true nature of your site as well, so choose only a small amount of select affiliate business partners in which to work. Focus on the success of those select affiliate businesses rather than many different affiliate business links.

2. Creating an Affiliate Business Promoting Your Own Business

If you're a web merchant and have a great product or service to promote, it's safe to consider implementing your own affiliate business by promoting affiliates to join on as your sales team. The steps involved in becoming an affiliate business will take time and even money, especially with choosing and installing affiliate tracking software, but can, in the long run, become a very profitable and viable business expansion. However, the most time consuming step in owning an affiliate business where you're promoting your own products or services is recruiting affiliates into your program.

A good way to promote your affiliate business program is through increasing your own web traffic. Consider reciprocal linking strategies with sites that complement your business or the nature of your business. Links to your site from a popular site not only increases the rate of visitors from that site, but is also a factor used by many of the world's most popular search engines when calculating rankings. There are software packages that can choose links for you, but because they're expensive, if you have the time to look yourself, choose that route instead.

Once you have an affiliate business team in place, be supportive of your team so that they can generate the sales that you need and desire. Offer a variety of web banners to choose for posting on their web sites, as well as text links and other advertising options that are easily accessible for your affiliates. Respond to their communications quickly. Pay them on time. Offer suggestions to help them increase their web site traffic, their click throughs, and ultimately, their commissions. By working closely with your affiliate business sales people, you'll bring them success in working with you - and in turn, will bring in increased sales for your business.

A wise merchant knows that good sales affiliates are rare, and treats them with respect, assisting them with resources and providing prompt commission payments. A wise affiliate knows that an affiliate business merchant wants quality promotion and sales performance for a minimal cost. With these two statements in mind, the only successful merchant and affiliate partnerships are struck when both parties understand these points and work hard at working together, resulting in profits for both parties.

EBook Publishing & Marketing

Congratulations, you have written your ebook also known as a digital or electronic book and the time has come to get the word out on the worldwide web. The key benefit about using an e-book for self publishing is that you do not have to spend the money on printing and shipping expenses. This also allows you to test various markets and advertising options without costing you a lot of money and heartache.

There are many ebook software programs on the market. I prefer to do mine in PDF format as they can be read on both PC and MAC computers. Remember to make your pages easy to read with some color, a few images and white space. The writing and actual formatting of an ebook is a whole other article that I am writing currently and hope to share with you soon.

After spending tons of money, several years and many-many hours online with my websites and ebook projects, I have gone through the ups and downs of the learning process of trying to sell ebooks both for myself and for others. One important choice you can make when just starting out is are you going to sell the ebook or are you going to offer it for free to get your name out there with all your links and contact information. This is called "viral marketing" with the purpose of having as many people as possible sharing and downloading your ebook. You can even offer your free ebook to websites as a joint venture for them to offer your ebook as their free bonus with their sales. The key things that you will need to sell your ebook online are:

A website or webpage of your own or offer your ebook to an ebook website that may take a small fee and / or include your ebook in an affiliate program-

A good sales page about the ebook -

A quality ebook Cover Image - Graphics are key!

A "Thank You" Download page from where your ebook is downloaded-

Other Marketing Considerations may include:

Offering a Free Bonus EBook - very important in this e-business to over deliver for the price!

Set a budget to test some PPC (pay-per-click-) Advertising such as Google Ads to drive traffic to your sales page-

Exchange related links with quality websites with a good search engine ranking-

Process a Press Release such as with PRWEB -

Submit articles to article/ezine websites about your ebook-

Join ebook Forums and post messages with your ebook link-

Take advantage of your email "Signature" to include your ebook Title and sales page link in addition to telling frinds and family-

Start a BLOG about your ebook topic and include the link to your ebook sales page-

The important factor is not to go wild with over-spending on marketing. Test-test-test and research online for many more ways to promote your ebook. The best advice I can give if this is your first ebook, is to start another ebook right away that either expands on the chosen subject or another topic that you have a passion for. Remember, you can either try to do all of this publishing and promoting yourself, you can share the tasks, or you can have a professional guide you and produce a satisfactory product for you while you spend your time and energy writing your next ebook!

Kind Regards and best of luck!

Career Options For The Ambitious Nurse Entrepreneur

Nurses are taking control of their careers by exploring options other than the traditional roles of yester-year. Independent RN Contractors are storming the healthcare field. There was a time when nurses were hesitant about cutting the ties from the employer not true today. More and more nurses are now enjoying the many benefits of self-employment. Nurse Contractors are now a large part of the nursing industry thanks to the ambitious nurse entrepreneurs. Nurses have realized the many advantages of cutting the middleman out of nursing.

An Independent Nurse Contractor is one who practices outside the customary role of an employee of another; as an alternative they elect to work as an independent contractor. You will set the terms of your services limited only by need and your ability to negotiate. An Independent contractor can contract his or her nursing services directly with a healthcare facility or with a patient and continue bedside practice. A contractual agreement is drawn up between you and the institution. You will be able to negotiate your compensation, hours worked and length of time your services will be needed. The contract is similar to those used by nursing agencies and travel companies outlining the services to be provided, the responsibilities of both the healthcare facility and the nurse, and the length of time the services are to be provided. Nurses contract their nursing services out to a huge assortment of fields in the Healthcare Industry; Home Health, Nursing Homes, Hospitals, Rehab Centers and Doctors Offices just to name a few.

You may elect to practice as Sole Proprietors, Limited Liability Company or with others in a group using a variety of legal entities. These could include public corporations, partnerships, or other structures that professionals commonly use such as a common term registrars .It is actually something that nurses have been doing all along. Think about it, when you work for an agency you are doing the same thing except now you are eliminating the middle man and enjoying the all the benefits without them taking a large piece of the pie.

Any nurse can start a business, including two-year graduates and diploma nurses. No advance degrees are necessary unless your business includes diagnosing and treating medical problems. State nurse practice acts do no prohibit a nurse from starting up their own business as an Independent Nurse Contractor. Independent nurse contractor is one who contracts with a healthcare facility for nursing services. A contractual agreement is drawn up between you and the institution. You will be able to negotiate your compensation, hours worked and length of time your services will be needed. There is no prohibition in any Nurse Practice Act that prohibits your practicing as an independent contractor.

The advantages of business ownership are rewarding and challenging and far exceed the risks. No more Bosses, You are now your own chief. Dedication, ambition and long hours can increase your income, rather than increasing profits for someone else. Starting A Nursing Agency and working as an Independent Nurse Contractor is one that more and more nurses are turning to for career fulfillment. Nurses are finding that they can double or even triple their income; increase their choices as to how often when and where to work, gain professional autonomy and increase over all job satisfaction. Advertising Is Key To Home Business Success

There is no question that advertising is key to the success of any business large or small, new or old. Without advertising and marketing practices a business simply cannot succeed or last long. To ensure long and lasting success, a business must engage in marketing and advertising in some way. If you have heard the old adage that it takes money to make money then you know that advertising does not come for free. A business must consider an advertising campaign budget to keep their numbers up.

It has been said that the best form of advertising is word of mouth advertising. Word of mouth advertising is free and lends an air of credibility to the business. Usually, word of mouth advertising comes from happy and satisfied customers and clients that wish to share their positive experience. Most of the time, they tell their friends, family, and coworkers about a particular product or service and in turn new customers come to the business.

While word of mouth is a wonderful and free way to get the word out about a business, it is not the be all end all of advertising. Advertising with television spots, radio spots, on billboards, and in print are all still very effective ways to get the word out. These methods of advertising are quite expensive and not as realistic for many small businesses.

A more economical yet effective way for a business to advertise is online. The Internet is such an integral part of daily life now that it is hard not to advertise on the World Wide Web. The ways in which a business can advertise online are seemingly endless. There are several types of email marketing campaigns, banner advertising, link advertising, websites, and viral marketing. Usually, to engage in a successful email marketing campaign, a business will send past customers an email to announce new products or specials on their website or in their store.

By large, advertising online is usually very cheap. The key is to find a place online where lots of your customers are going to go. In order to do this, you have to be sure that you know who your demographic is and who is using your business. This might require some work on your part. Once you have identified who the people are that are using your business, you can go to other sites that these people are also going to be using, and you can advertise on these sites, quite easily.

Many business owners engage in strategic networking with other business owners in an effort to advertise their businesses. Strategic networking is a way for business owners to meet each other, get the word out about their company, and even to expand their resources and business prospects.

One of the newest ways to get the word out about your business and successfully advertise is that through social networking. Social networking is much like strategic networking in that it is usually free and occurs through meeting and discussing issues and products. However, social networking is done through modern media such as websites, blogs, and the Internet community. It is highly effective and inexpensive.

Regardless of the method of advertising used, a business must use constant advertising campaigns to keep success on the horizon.

Writing A Business Plan

Let's talk about. Business plans.

I wanted to get a home business going but I needed extra finance. I had spoken to friends and relatives but they either didnt have the money to spare or they didnt have enough confidence in my ability to repay the money.

Undaunted, I decided to contact my bank manager. I was aware that the first question he would ask would be : Can I see your business plan?

What exactly is a business plan? What does it need to contain?

A business plan is simply a list of answers to questions that are sure to be asked about you and your proposed business. You will not get outside funding unless you have the answers, It is only natural that the people giving you the funding want to know that you have thought your venture through completely. Considered it from every angle, are ready to get going and will have every chance of paying the money back on time.

Your business plan should include? A description of your service or product. Just what is it that you plan to do and how you intend to do it. What experience you have in the world of commerce and in this particular sphere of business.

Who will be your customers? What age group are you aiming at? (If any.) What is the strength of your opposition? What makes your business different from other businesses in your market? You need to explain what makes your believe that you can compete successfully. What is your special edge?

You will need a list of your proposed expenses. Including start up expenses and any equipment that you will need before you can get up and running. What ongoing expenses such as staff costs and supplies will be required, to enable you to start earning any money? How long will it be before the money starts coming in?

How much will you need? For how long you will need the loan? Have you any other income or will you need to live off the loan until you get started? What are your daily expenses and can you reduce them?

What are your assets? The bank will require some sort of security. If you have property that is paid for you should have little difficulty obtaining the finance. Failing that, A life insurance policy that you have had for some years may be enough to get you the O/K.

If all your efforts to obtain outside finance fail, What are you going to do? Will you give up and go back to the old nine to five routine?

Or will you say, You have had your chance to earn some money from me. Thats your hard luck. I will do it without your help. It will take a little longer, but I am determined to get there just the same. Even if I have to totally rethink my plans and concentrate on a different venture altogether. I will succeed and nothing and no-one is going to stop me.

I am going to run my own business

Believe me, With that attitude, nothing can stop you..

That is what happened to me. The bank gave me a resounding NO

I was not put off for the lack of working capital. I had a computer with an internet connection I was half way there. The simplest way to get going was to join a few affiliate programs. I chose ones that had been in business for a few years that had plenty of backup services. They gave me all the help I wouldl ever need. My only added expense was for my advertising budget. I staredt small and worked my way up. As soon as I started selling, I ploughed as much as I could afford back into more advertising.

It is not the amount of money that you spend on advertising that matters. It is the quality of the advertising that brings in the money.

I did well to take the advice of the people who were running the affiliate programs. They knew what they were doing. They only make money when their affiliates sell their goods or services. They have a vested interest in you to ensure that you succeed.

Walk. Dont Run. The one who works smart is the one most likely to win.

Dont let anyone put you off. You can do it.

Cash Now - Affiliate Marketing

The apparent availability of wealth draw so many to the Internet, its reminiscent of the days of the California Gold Rush. Not so different from that distant past most get disheartened in their quest of making money online. They believe just about everything they see online. With the plethora of available e-Books claiming to have the secrets of striking it rich, they end up spending much more than necessary. The result is more than often information overload with no clear path of where they are going, except maybe onto the next e-Book.

These individuals just want to know how to make money online and how to do it now. There are of course many ways to make money on the Internet, after all it is the worlds largest market place. You need to devise a plan; one can either sell their own product/services or simply sell someone elses. The vast majority of individuals would fall into the second category. Its called affiliate marketing and once done correctly this is where you can strike gold.

There are literally thousands upon thousands of products available for anyone to promote and make commissions ranging upwards of 75% some even 100% and all you have to do is sign-up for free. As an affiliate you can start making money almost immediately. Theres no inventory to keep, no having to deal with customers and you dont even need your own website. What can be better than that?

This is how it works: first you have to sign up to be an affiliate with the company(s) of you choice for the products you want to promote. You would be given a unique URL for their website which contains your affiliate code. This URL leads back to their sales page where any purchases made by visitors will earn you your commission, either a percentage or a flat fee. Tens of thousands of people earn a living this way and free themselves from their regular jobs.

Promote your products! Potential buyers arent just going to pull your affiliate links out of mid air. Now you have products that you can sell thats only half the battle. The second and most critical is to drive traffic to the site(s) using your affiliate URL.

There are several ways to promote your affiliate links, of which I will briefly mention a few. Paid Ads is really the best form of promoting, using search engine pay-per-click on Google, Yahoo etc. For free traffic you can write a blog and include your affiliate link. Write and submit articles on topics youre comfortable with and include your link in the bio box. You can also have someone write for you, a Ghost Writer. Join forums and put your link in your profile or signature area, so whenever you make a post your link gets out there. If youre looking for financial freedom, look no further than affiliate marketing.

Article Marketing Wins Over PPC

Most affiliate marketers think that PPC or Pay Per Click campaigns are better at driving traffic, as compared to article marketing. Theyre wrong. The fact is, article marketing carries with it far less risk and much more impact than PPC campaigns.

How does PPC work?

For those of you new to PPC, heres an overview on how it works. Basically, PPC uses advertisements to get a readers attention. Once the reader clicks on the ad, the affiliate marketer earns a commission. A lot of research and money goes into placing ads in strategic positions. The competition is so fierce that organizations scramble to get their products listed in the PPC campaigns. Millions of dollars are spent each day on these campaigns.

Why spend so much when you can avoid it?

Yes, PPC campaigns, for all their hype, do not provide the same results as article marketing does. Why is it that article marketing is better than PPC?

Credibility: Article marketing helps an affiliate marketer to establish credibility on the subject. Writing for an extended period of time on a related subject establishes the person as a subject matter expert. This ensures more customers will turn to you for any information on this subject. PPC does not provide any such platform to establish credibility.

Inexpensive: Article marketing is free. It doesnt cost a dime to start writing and posting articles on directories. PPC, on the other hand, requires plenty of investment to get the company listed among search engine results. With such tough competition around, if you dont have adequate funds, someone else will get listed.

Low risk: Article marketing is less risky when compared to PPC. Its free and therefore, even if you take some time to succeed, it wont have an adverse impact. Whereas in PPC, the initial investment is so high, that not finding success can mean incurring heavy losses.

Displacement: With PPC, there is always the fear of being displaced by competitors. People are willing to shell out top dollar just to get their company listed. In article marketing, there is no such danger involved.

Adherence to search engine rules: PPC demands that advertisers strictly adhere to search engine rules and regulations as well as layout. Therefore, in case of any change in plan of a search engine, even the PPC advertisements need to be in sync with the new format. Article marketing does not carry any such drawbacks with it.

Not enough content: PPC campaigns require to be up and running very quickly. This can mean not having enough time to build content around the keywords provided. This has led to many disappointed visitors clicking on a PPC link and then discovering lack of content to back it up. This also adversely impacts the reputation of the organization. Whereas in article marketing, you have sufficient time to build content around the keywords.

Trial and error: PPC does not provide anyone the luxury of testing out the effectiveness of keywords. With high investments and lack of time, organizations are expected to be bang on target on the very first attempt. Else they lose out in the race. Article marketing provides ample time to try out keywords and analyze their effectiveness. This provides scope for improvement as well.

Only for large scale businesses: PPC campaigns are at best only suited for the large-sized businesses. The high amount of investment needed, coupled with chances of high risks, means that a small sized start up cannot afford such PPC campaigns. Article marketing, on the other hand, provides more leeway to experiment, test effectiveness and try new approaches. The best part about it is that it is free of cost. It also provides a steady way to grow an affiliate marketing campaign. With the right set of keywords, and well thought out articles, one can dramatically enhance traffic to an affiliate site, in a very short time span.

Selling Your Product Online Is Not As Hard As You May Think Few Easy Steps

The prevalence of selling product online is increasing by the day. Why? Because even when you are peacefully sleeping, you can be assured that your product is being viewed without you having to do anything.

Of course, this is not always the case especially if you have just started promoting your product. There are still a lot of things that you need to do to get your product or service to the online market. Most often than not, a tremendous effort on your part will be required.

Selling products online can be done in several ways. In fact, there are so many ways that you will have no excuse for not succeeding in the business you want to venture in.

One way of selling products online is by joining subsisting domains like the widely known amazon.com. You can list as many items as you wish to sell and for every sale, you give the site a percentage of it. So, there is mutual relationship. They help you and you help them.

Another way is through auction sites such as eBay where you can post your products and allow people to bid for how much a product will be bought for.

Now, if you do not want to join any other website, then you can opt to set up your own online store. However, this may cost you a big amount of funds. You will have to spend for registering a domain name, website hosting, software for e-commerce, website development and maintenance, internet access among many others. You also need to hire a professional to work on your website design and everything else that is needed. A lot of time and effort is required if you choose this option.

You do not always have to spend a great deal just to sell your products online, though. You just have to learn to be resourceful and strategic in finding means to get your products online. One way is through direct mail. Nowadays, it has become almost impossible to make use of email to introduce your product to prospective buyers because of spam filters. However, there is actually an option to buy or rent a mailing list that will help you reach potential customers.

Another is through blog. If you have one, you can actually make use of it to advertise a product or products that you want to sell. You just have to build traffic to your blog so to make sure that your product is being viewed. Get more subscribers as much as possible. You may also use your blog to inform people about your product.

Ezines could also work for you. If you can make quality write-ups about your product or service, submit them to any popular ezine sites. It can also help if you write about other interesting and unique topics. Just make sure that you have your signature box ready with your product name, URL and a brief description. By writing free informative information that might be of interest to more people, you are at the same time promoting yourself and your expertise to thousands of online business persons online. You will build credibility and they will trust that your products are good.

Selling products online should be easy. You just have to find the right technique to get potential customers and successfully make a sale.

How I Turned into a Psychic Octopus

Okay so you can pick up the telephone before someone calls... and you can sense when the mail arrives and run down to the mailbox to pick up the check you have been waiting for. But have you ever tried being in two places at once. Reasoning says you can't. You either have to be HERE or THERE but not in both places... but perhaps... there is a possibility... maybe... you can be in more than one place.

I remember sitting in a lecture one day and thinking to myself, "I really wish I had chosen to go to the other lecture down the hall," but I had chosen this lecture. Or, I should say, it had been chosen for me. My friend grabbed my arm and shoved me into the lecture hall, saying, "I just have to hear this speaker."

So here I was... sitting... in a place I really didn't want to be.

"THE CIGAR THAT SCARED ME"

I admit that I did like the instructor and I did like the subject, but...I wanted to be elsewhere. I kept thinking about the other lecture, then all of a sudden I felt energy rushing out of my back, being pulled out of me as if I were a piece of clay and someone was pulling a piece of that clay out into a long cigar-looking shape rounded on the end, as a cigar looks before someone bits the tip off.

It scared me, I didn't know what was happing. I was sure I was under psychic attack. I started to prepare to counterattack, but then, amazingly, I realized there was no attack... the cigar shape was... well... it was ME. A part of my body was reaching out, trying to follow my thoughts, "I wish I was in the other room," I had thought. And so a part of me decided to... just go there.

Of course, no one else in the room was aware that anything was happening. As I had learned from the physicist who had taught me about my psychic system, the body's energy system exists at such a subtle level that most people can't even see what is happening.

"OCTOPUS ARMS"

I was like a giant octopus with this invisible tentacle reaching out and gathering data for me from another place. I discovered I had "Octopus arms" that could rush out to find whatever information I needed. I could then get that data by turning my consciousness in that direction.

A part of me, the Octopus arm, had rushed through the door and twisted and turned down the hall before entering the lecture I wanted to hear.

This was the first experience I ever had with that part of my own psychic energy system. There were many amazing things I would learn about the body's energy system in the future, but this was one of my most memorable experiences since it happened so unexpectedly.

The newness of the experience left me feeling nauseous. The dizziness forced me to leave the room.

"IT COULD HAPPEN"

It can happen just like that. Sometimes your psychic system begins to function all on it's own. Or maybe you just become aware of what has been happening all your life without you noticing it. Abilities just expand all by themselves. I wouldn't say my experience was spontaneous, after all I had been practicing my psychic abilities for years.

If I could be in two places at once, why not 3 or 4? My eyes got big as I thought about it.

It is possible to tune into the different psychic systems of your body. Just turn your conscious mind in that direction and get the information. That's why students take psychic classes, to learn how to make their body more sensitive so they will be able to hear, see, touch, and even smell more than others. It just takes some practice in causing your body to become supersensitive so you won't miss the subtle things happening all around you. There is no magic. There is no special birth right. It's there for all of us.

You can "do it" too.

Think Out Of The Box Think Global

Working from home is great it has so many advantages there are to many to list. The whole scope of the possibilities in mind blowing.

One of the most important things to realize now is that we are one big family. The whole world is on the Internet, so do not limit yourself to one area.

Think Global. When you look for a Home Business Opportunity on the Internet, start by thinking about the Global aspect. Understand that you maybe sitting in Australia or America or somewhere else, but that your customers are in China, Indonesia, London New York Barcelona etc. This puts a whole new slant on what you need in your business to make it work.

You need to think about it from their point of view. .Does the opportunity you are looking at have unlimited opportunities for international customers.

What are you selling does it need postage or have customs regulations? Are there easy banking facilities?

Some of the biggest and in fact the biggest success stories on the Internet come from people who have thought out of the box.

Products need to be downloadable, affiliate schemes need to have banking facilities available for them. What are you selling need to be user friendly... you need to have instant access in your program to help your customers all over the world.

These are the web sites that are producing the good in this day and age.

We a really one big family. The Farmer in Nairobi the Business Man in Paris the Teenage in Hawaii, all of them are potential buyers of you product.

Make sure what you are offering is acceptable and easy to use.

Ease of use is the vital part for success.

Many of your customers will not have English as their first languages; keep it all simple, easy, and user friendly etc.

So having said all that where do you start. Obviously you need an International program that deals with multiple strands of business and each strand must have an international strand.

I can not tell you how frustrated I got when years ago I was looking for a program. You would see something, think that looks good, do all the joining up bit and then come across USA AND CANADA only. Boring

So I am going to explain why and what you need to look for.

1. Something you find easy to use. Remember when you start you will have to explain the program to other people if you do not understand, it how can they?

2. Decide on a name for your Business and have Website name with a .com .You need to have world wide expose on Google.

2. A program with a reputation to die for (there are so many scams)

3.Do weeks and weeks of research. Would you go into a business in the High Street

If you did not have your facts?

4. Join something you can get into free. Of course there is no such thing as a free lunch and joining anything worthwhile will cost money. But the training you get from the course, provided by the program you have chosen will explain and advise what and when to buy something. But the final decision must always be yours.

5. Finally and the most important part of a Work from Home Business, do not expect to make a fortune in the first year. Do expect to have setting up costs it is a business for goodness sake.

Expect it to take time and as in any business your returns will built up and if you keep at it, and remember you have no overheads so you are at an immediate advantage.

You will soon find the money coming in and yourself building a very profitable business.

If I can do it so can you.Think how much time you spend on your computer why not make money with It.? Do it slowly, set it up in a business like manner and you will have an income for life. And I guarantee much shorter and more convenient hours than dashing of in all weather every day to a job.

Take a look at the following program: http://www.BarbaraCorcoran.biz/pips/html this covers all the points I have been making.

Take a short cut now and use all my years of hard work looking for the best...You will not be sorry. With this program that I am recommending, you will get a FREE Web site, a 30 day course under one of the best internet minds Stone Evans and a superb Support Team and Forum of other happy users.

If can help you further contact me on support@barbaracorcoran.biz I am always delighted to hear from you.

180 MPH From An Ordinary Production Sedan

If you would like a car that looks almost ordinary, but that is as fast as many supercars, buy the BMW M5. Yes, on the outside, this is an ordinary European sedan but under the hood is a 500 bhp V-10 engine that you might imagine came from a sports-racing car! Will it do 180 mph? No, it could, but it won't because BMW uses a limiter to prevent you going faster than 155 mph on all its hot cars. Actually, BMW says it will do over 190 mph without the limiter in operation.

The BMW M5 is powered by a very advanced 5.0 liter V-10 engine, ad fits neatly into the standard engine compartment. This is a very special engine, being built in small numbers and at high cost by BMW's M Center. It's a 90-degree V-10, which means that it won't be quite as smooth as some in theory, at any rate.

ADVANCED 500 BHP V10 ENGINE

Maximum power is 500 bhp at 7,700 rpm a real screamer this while the maximum torque of 380 lb ft is produced at 6,100 rpm. Boy, you're really going to keep this revving if you want to use all that power. Still, when it's just mooching along at 4,000 rpm, this amazing unit produces quite a chunk of power.

Needless to say, it has all the features you'd expect in a supercar engine, such as a stiff aluminum block, twin overhead camshafts per bank of cylinders and and narrow 4-valve heads. BMW uses its variable valve timing system, and drives the inlet camshafts on each bank by chain, with a gear drive to the exhaust camshaft, a system pioneered by Toyota to save space.

SEVEN-SPEED SEQUENTIAL GEARBOX

Coupled to this marvel of a power plant, which would seem more at home in a slinky coupe, is a seven-speed sequential gearbox. This is the latest development of the BMW sporty semi-automatic. BMW claims it's the first seven-speed box of its type. Mercedes-Benz has a seven-speed automatic, and Audi has a CVT with seven stages, but these are not quite the same.

Why all these seven-speed boxes? Well, for maximum acceleration, and so that you have the right gear coming out of any corner, the more gears the better. When you've got that many gears, the shift pattern gets pretty complicated with a manual box, so they're going for either automatics or semi-automatics.

To go with the powerful power train are bigger brakes than standard, wider wheels and tires, and stiffer suspension. The handling is surprisingly good for such an ordinary-looking car.

HOT PERFORMER, QUIET LOOKS

The result of putting this engine in the BMW 5 Series is very hot acceleration for such a big car: 0-60 in 4.7 seconds, and 0-125 mph in 15.6 seconds.

Will people pay over $100,000 or so for a 500 bhp sedan? You bet they will. There are a lot of people out there that want supercar performance, but dont' want to have to struggle to get in and out of the car. They also want to travel with plenty of luggage, and have room in the trunk for two sets of golf clubs and more.

And they'll get a real kick from burning off cheeky guys in sports cars who get in the way. Cars that are much faster than they look, which we used to call Q cars, have quite a market. What's it like to drive? Well, at normal speeds, the car is very quiet, and you would not know how power you had. In fact, there is a switch on the steering wheel which limits power to 400 bhp. To get the full 500 bhp, you need to press that.

So, most of the time you'll drive with 400 bhp, and the problem is that the engine does not have a lot of power until you get to 5,000 rpm, an the power keeps coming in until you get to 8,000 rpm. You need deserted roads to use that power, but the car works pretty well in traffic and normal commuting. Not quite so good in everyday use is the gearbox. It does not have a torque converter, so it can be quite jerky when you shift up.

Writing a Working Business Plan

Many women are so confused by the words - "Business Plan". What is it? Who do I show it to? Do I really need it? What is it really going to do for me?

A business plan is a written blueprint for your business. It describes a summary of what your business is about and it's goals. It also outlines how your business will function. The term "business plan" was first developed by bankers who wanted a detailed report of how a business would result in profits before they would make a decision on lending money. Today, no business banker will even entertain a business loan application without a business plan.

In a nutshell, the answer is yes, you really do need a business plan if you really want to build a solid foundation under your home-based business.

I guess the reason so many women procrastinate in doing a business plan is because they think they have to come up with some imaginary figures and statistics about their business which is of course very scary for anyone. This type of plan is known as an Executive Business Plan. This plan is shown to banks, SBA and other lenders who you may apply to for a substantial loan. Usually, this type of business plan must show a 3-5 year projection of how much money your business would make if they should lend you a specific sum of money. Although you will need this type of business plan should you wish to expand your business, the most important thing for you to know now is where you will be in the next 3,6,9 and 12 months. One of the best form of business plans to start out with is the "Working Business Plan". This plan answers the 5 "W's" - Who, What, Where, When and Why.

There is no pre-required length that a Working Business Plan should be. Just remember that you aren't writing to impress, you are writing to address the important issues of starting your business. This plan is just for your planning purposes and can be expanded later on into a full executive plan. The following outline will help you in processing your thoughts and writing your Working Business Plan.

1. Mission Statement - What is the goal of your business. What purpose does it serve.

2. Objective - What will the outcome be for your business as a result of your mission. (ex: K.G. enterprises will gross over $50,000 it's first year with a 5% error margin on its documents).

3. Management - Who will run the business and what qualifications does the person have. What additional skills or resources are needed? What are the names of others that might be able to serve as mentors or help you in grooming your business for success?

4. Service/Product - What products or services are being offered? How will they be produced. If you are selling a product, how much of the product will you need in stock? Do you have the start-up capital needed to purchase the produce? If no, how will you raise the capital needed?

5. Customers - Who are your customers? What area are they in? Is this a service or product they will want to buy? Do a typical profile of a repeat customer. 6. Competition - Who are your competitors? Where are they located? What are their prices? What services or products do they sell? How could you do better?

7. Marketing - How will you market your business? How much money will you need to market your business? How is your competition marketing their business? Do you need business cards, brochure, stationery, fliers etc.?

8. Office Set-up - What are your daily office procedures, what will you do each day that will result in the sale of your service or product? What bookkeeping system will you use and how often will you input your information in the system? Do you need a bookkeeper? What supplies do you need? What type of furniture do you need? What office equipment will you need? Where will your office be?

9. Finances - HOW MUCH MONEY WILL YOU NEED FOR THE FOLLOWING?

$ Your Income $ Advertising/Promotion $ Bank Fees $ Business Insurance $ Business Lease/Rent $ Internet (include website, hosting etc.) $ Supplies $ Postage $ Printing $ Telephone $ Training $ Utilities $ Marketing/Advertising $ Equipment $ Furniture

10. Networking - Who needs to know about your new venture and why? What contacts do you need to have? Why do you need to know them? What can they help you with?

Contact Management

Establish a good contact management system for yourself. Today, keeping a list of contacts on paper is not efficient. A good contact management software will be needed. If you currently use MS Office, you should have MS Outlook already installed and it will serve the purpose nicely. Other popular contact management software are ACT and Goldmine. Regardless of what contact system you have you must be willing to update your system at least twice per week.

Evaluate how you will manage you contact system. Make sure to schedule this in your planner or palm.

11. Sales - The number of clients you service or products you sale will give you a true picture as to whether or not you are having success with your business. But first, you must have a measurable sales goal in achieving this success. Start by evaluating where you want to be in sales for the first 3 months, 6, months, 9 months or one year. By doing this you will be able to re-evaluate your business plan every three months and determine if you need to improve in marketing etc.

12. Starting Date - Set a starting date for when you want to begin your business or put into place this working business plan. Make sure you have printed material available for all services or products offered. Also evaluate and follow-up with yourself daily for the first month to ensure that you are following your own plan. After 30 days, follow-up on a weekly basis and then monthly from that point on.

13. Remember, no plan will work unless you are willing to put it into action!

Learning Skills - Eight Great Ones

Learning effectively and efficiently requires some basic learning skills. In other words, we need to learn how to learn. Here are some ways to develop those skills.

1. Identify what is essential. This is one of the most important learning skills to develop. If you are learning to drive a car, getting used to the steering wheel, gas pedal and brake pedal are essential, right? All the rest can come later.

Knowing the essentials helps you make sense of all the rest. If you are studying economics, for example, you need to understand supply and demand. Then it is easier to understand how good weather can depress commodity prices, or how government spending can drive prices up.

How do you identify what is most essential? A simple way is to ask, "What is important here?" We often forget to do this. Ask yourself this question, but ask others too, if they are teaching you. In textbooks, the key points are often listed after a chapter. Read these first, and again after reading the chapter.

2. Relate new material to what you already know. Suppose you are a doctor, for example, and you are reading an article about car maintenance. Finding parallels between the two, like the concept of dirty oil and a blood toxins, will help you remember what you learn. Do this enough and you'll train yourself to automatically look for connections between things. You'll think more creatively, and improve your memory, because having more connections makes it easier to recall things.

3. Compare and contrast. Think to yourself "That's like this," or "How is that different from this?" This process categorizes and arranges facts and ideas in your mind, making them easier to access later. It is like using a mental filing cabinet instead of just piling things up on a mental desk.

4. Expose your mind to new material before you feel "ready," or have time to study. This first part of learning is where you look at new ideas and say, "huh?" Do it quickly, reviewing everything for a few minutes, and your unconscious mind will start "incubating" the new concepts, and finding some way to organize them.

5. Get curiosity and anticipation working for you. How do you create this state of mind? Try to leave each learning session with a question or two clearly in your mind. It will help create a sense of anticipation and curiosity that will help you the next time you approach the material.

6. Study as a teacher. This can totally change your perspective and make your learning more efficient. Keep the idea in mind that you will be teaching what you're learning. Imagine how you will teach it, even hearing the words you'll use. This is one of the more powerful learning skills.

7. Take breaks. Research shows that we remember best what we study first and last in a given session. Taking breaks creates more "sessions," and so increases the number of firsts and lasts. Fifteen or twenty minute sessions followed by two or three minute breaks works well for some, but experiment.

8. Imagine the uses for what you are learning. Of all the information you will be exposed to, so little of it is the "important stuff." However, by imagining how you'll use the new information, or at least how it could be used, you will tend to automatically focus on the things you really need to know.

9. Carry a list of the above tips and refer to it until these learning skills have become an automatic part of your study routines.

How To Create An Affordable Web Site For Your Online Business In Less Than 24 Hours

The purpose of this article is to recommend complete newbies to online business an affordable instant web site solution.

This solution will enable them to create an affordable web site quickly and easily, while taking time to acquire the necessary technical skills.

To have their own web site, they need three essential elements:

- A domain name

- A web host for that domain

- A web design software to create your web site.

Let me give you a brief comparison between starting a traditional and an online business.

** Domain Name **

Before anyone can start up a traditional business, they would brainstorm for a business name.

There's absolutely no difference for an online business. On the Internet, a business name is represented by a domain name.

That's the part that comes after the www in a web site address or after the "@" in an email address.

For example, if an email address is: name@domain.com, then your domain name reads as "domain dot com"

** Web Host **

After a name is given for a traditional businss, an office or shop space is needed so that customers can locate.

So, in the online world, once a domain name is gotten, a web host is needed to store an online business web site.

In other words, web hosting is the service that provides the space for a website to exist.

** Web Design Software **

Now, it's time to look for an interior designer to do the office or shop layout so that the traditional business can operate most efficiently. Another option is to do it yourself.

Similarly, in an online business, a web designer is needed but that would cost hundreds or thousands of dollars. And how about the changes and updates in time to come? The alternative is for the Internet marketer to create their own web sites using some web design software according to their business needs.

** How Long Does A Complete Newbie Take? **

If someone is not yet familiar with computers and the Internet, it's really not that simple to get started. Why I said so is because I personally came across many aspiring Internet marketers who really need help.

Even after attending Internet marketing seminars and back end coaching sessions by gurus that cost them an arm and a leg, they are still totally stumbled by the basics!

Somehow, they cannot get started to do the following:

- Register for a domain name

- Register for a web host

- Point their domain name to their web host (so that when someone types their domain name in their browser, it would take them to their web site)

- Create a web site

- Upload the completed web site to the Internet

As you can see, these are the stumbling blocks to many when starting their Internet marketing journey.

How long would you think a typical office worker who knows only MS Word, email and surfing the Net be able to muster enough courage and take action in order to get up to speed with that?

I've seen people taking three months to do that while there are people who are still at the starting blocks (or shall I say, stumbling blocks) after 6 to 9 months!

Isn't that a pity?

** How To Create An Affordable Web Site In Less Than 24 Hours? **

I came across a solution that can help these people get started within 24 hours!

As long as they can type a letter or create a document in MS Word, they can start creating your own web site with their own domain name literally in minutes!

No, I'm not talking about outsourcing. Nor am I talking about buying web sites from eBay. (I know some newbies who did that but still, they dont know what to do with the web sites they purchased.)

While they take their time to learn and take action on registering a domain name and web host, creating web sites using Frontpage, uploading the files using FTP, they can get started immediately with Affiliate marketing and AdSense Publishing!

Heres the instant solution for them...

Have you ever heard of Global Domains International (GDI)? They are the guys who came up with the .ws domain. Their angle is that domain names is a HUGE thing and if you have missed the .com revolution, heres your chance again with .ws.

For example, if "yourname dot com" is already taken up by someone else with the same name, they you still can register "yourname dot ws"

With a GDI account for just $10 per month, they can register for their "businessname dot ws" and their web site goes LIVE instantly.

Plus, the package comes with a web-based site builder software that they can use to create your web site within hours as long as they know how to use MS Word. Once the web site is completed, all they have to do is to push a button to publish to their web site painlessly.

Guess what?

Now, they can then insert the HTML codes obtained from the affiliate programs or Amazon or Google AdSense. And they have up to 10 web pages to paste that into.

The Benefits of Donating Your Car

Do you have an old vehicle that you no longer drive? If that vehicle still runs, do you plan on doing anything with it? If not, you may want to think about donating it. Car donations are rapidly increasing in popularity. Each year, a fairly large number of individuals and businesses make the decision to donate the cars that they no longer need or what. Why is that? Because there are literally an unlimited number of benefits to donating your car.

Perhaps, the greatest benefit of giving your car away, as a car donation, is that you will be helping out a charitable organization that needs it. Many of the receivers of donated cars are non-profit organizations. These non-profit organizations often work to help those that are in need. For instance, many cities have local food pantries. Volunteers may not only need to collect food, but deliver the food to those who need it. Without a vehicle, volunteers may be unable to complete all of their tasks. Your car donation could prevent that from happening.

When giving your car away as a donation, you should also be proud. This is another benefit to donating your car. Most individuals, who do donate their cars, are left with a feeling of selflessness and pleasure. Not all individuals make the decision to donate their cars. In fact, if given the opportunity, many car owners would choose to sell their car before donating it to charity. You should be proud of yourself for making to decision to help someone else before helping yourself.

Another one of the many benefits to donating your car is that it is relatively easy to do. In fact, when it comes to car donations, you will find that you have a number of different options. First, you could contact all local charities and ask if they would like to acquire your car, as a donation. If you do not have the time to do this, you could contact a company or organization that specializes in car donations. Once they have your car in their possession, they will then search for a charitable organization who could use it. Although you will not necessarily know where your car will end up, you will find that using a car donation company saves you time and maybe even money.

As mentioned above, you should be proud of yourself for making the decision to donate your car, instead of selling it for a profit. While it may have been difficult to do, you will not necessarily receive nothing for your good gesture. Depending on whom you donate your vehicle to and the vehicles worth, you may be able to receive a car donation tax deduction. It is important to note that you will not be compensated for the whole cost of your car, but it will be better than receiving nothing at all.

As you can easily see, there are a number of different benefits to donating your car. No matter which charitable organization it ends up with, it is likely that your car donation will be put to good use.
